Recently I heard that an extract from
green tea could be used to treat genital warts. Is this true?
Yes, there is a product called
veregen. It is an extract from green tea and used as a topical treatment for genital
and anal warts. So far, there is not much known about this product and I cant
tell you if it works.
It does have the same type of side effects as
podophyllotoxin. It should never be applied inside any body orifice but just on
the external surface. It is an expensive product and if money is an issue, go with
podophyllotoxin or trichloroacetic acid.
Almost always, newer products are many
times more expensive and are no more effective than the older medications.
